I have this ability or knack I should say to see things in other things. I acquired this thrift store painting of some lovely flowers and I took one look at it and thought "Whoa I should use that painting as a snail shell". Some art is like that. I see it right away. My favorite paintings often start as a previously completed piece of art. Looking at something and wondering how to creatively cover it and maybe use some of the original shape is one of my favorite things! I love the cover-up/collab! I really want to collaborate with more artists in real life.

fun fact: I was already on a "bug" kick when my muse delivered this idea. I had just finished a portrait painting class in grass valley, and learned how to make soft faces. I had just discovered the mid-tone this far into my art life. Totally blew my brain open.
