about this art:
Technincally, this is an art collaboration between Eva and her daughter Emma. The original painting Emma made when she was 3 or 4 when we lived in South Lake Tahoe. I saw a bug in it, started to sketch, and this is what came out. I love this painting so much it is just perfectly odd and vibrant and a collab at that.

fun fact: this painting is when I really started to discover just how important it is for me to have "things peeking through from the background". Early layers with contrast that wont get lost when they get covered in layers. Also that I like to pretend acrylic is watercolor even though that triggers my art mentors. *shrug*

This palette: cadmium yellow, cadmium orange, titanium white. The red you see is actually watercolor pencil! I love playing on these bugs I do when no one is looking.
